CASAR, NC – Team DeRisi Racing joined over 10,000 other racers and spectators at the infamous Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, IN.  Round 12 of the series greeted racers with nasty mudholes, deep water crossings, and the toughest hillclimbs that they have encountered all season.  Team DeRisi was prepared for the challenge and anxious to chalk up a few more wins.

Braden Henthorn has found himself in a fierce battle for the XC2 ProAm Championship.  Heading into this race, he was holding 2^nd in points and was looking for a win to close the gap on the leader.  Braden had a good start and quickly found himself inside the top five.  On lap 3, Braden took over the lead and began to gap the field.  He continued to ride smart and went on to win his fourth race of the season.  Braden now holds the XC2 points lead by six points going into the final round.

Brycen Neal once again took the win in College A as well as the Top Amateur award by finishing 11^th overall.  By claiming his seventh win of the season, Brycen wrapped up the College A Championship.  Brycen plans to step up to XC2 ProAm for the final round at Loretta Lynn’s in two weeks.

Eric Hoyland decided to move up to XC1 Pro class for the last two rounds of the series.  Eric is looking to gain experience before possibly moving into XC1 full time next season.  Eric had a great start aboard his DeRisi Honda, and narrowly missed grabbing the holeshot award.  He settled in to a good pace and ran with the lead pack for most of lap one.  Unfortunately, the harsh conditions took its toll on his machine and he retired from the race on lap two.  Eric is looking forward to giving XC1 another shot at the next round.

Carter Kerens came into the Ironman with a load of confidence from taking the win at each of the last two rounds.  Carter once again put his DeRisi Racing machine out front to take his third win in a row.  With his fifth win of the season, Carter is now leading the 90 Open (8-11) Championship points.

David Reeves and James Reeves both had a difficult day at Ironman.  David encountered mechanical problems after his machine took on too much water in one of the deep river crossings.  This forced him to pull out of the race on the first lap.  James Reeves fell victim to the treacherous Indiana mud on lap 2, causing him to drop several positions.  However, James was able to battle back to finish 10^th in Junior A.  David Reeves and James Reeves now sit 3^rd and 4^th respectively in Junior A points

Kylie Ahart also fell victim to a mechanical problem brought on by the massive amount of mud and water on the track.  On lap one, Kylie was running in the 3^rd position, and only ten seconds off of the lead.  However, her race ended on lap two before she could make a run at the leaders.  Even after a disappointing day, Kylie still holds on to 3^rd in Women’s Championship points.
