Fort Mill, SC – September 20, 2012.  Casey Currie and Team GT will lay all their cards on the table this weekend as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) visits Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Rounds 13 & 14.  With six Pro Lite podiums under his belt in 2012, and a Round 11 win, Currie is looking to roll the dice and score big on his General’s when he takes to the dirt under the neon lights of Vegas.

With championships on the line and pride at stake, the drama is sure to be high as Currie and his Team GT teammates fight for their spot on top of the podium this Friday and Saturday night.  We talked to Currie this week and asked about the upcoming race, preparations for 2013 and memories of 2012.  Here’s what he had to say:

Q:  You’ve really come on strong the last few rounds of LOORRS competition.
Where was the turning point for you?

A:  We made lots of changes to the truck and to my training program. Everything is clicking really good and it’s fun to race!

Q:  Is there anything in particular you’ve been focused on this season as
far as competition?

A:  My best competition is myself. The only time we don’t finish on the podium is when we get taken out by other people.

Q:  What are some of the challenges Las Vegas Motor Speedway presents to a
driver?

A:  Vegas will be a good track the only problem is the track layout doesn’t allow for a lot of clean passing so hopefully we can start up front.

Q:  What can fans expect to see at the race this weekend?

A:  Night racing is the best and this being a night race is going to bring a lot of excitement under the lights.

Q:  What’s it going to take to win this weekend at Las Vegas?

A:  Good clean runs are what we need to win at Vegas. The truck is ready and I am ready.

Q:  Of all the tracks you’ve competed at this year, what’s been your
favorite and why?

A:  I love racing on tracks like Chicago. They are newly built tracks and a Motocross track builder builds them so racing is a lot better.

Q:  As we begin to wrap up the 2012 season, what kinds of things will you be
working on in the “off” season to prepare for 2013 (e.g. testing, new
truck, etc.)?

A:  We will be doing a lot over the off season. We are dialing in race trucks, getting more organized and testing as much as possible.

Q:  What’s been your most memorable race moment this year and why?

A:  We swept the weekend in Crandon. We were crowned World Champion. Nothing better than leaving a track as a World Champion.
