The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) returns to Rob MacCachren’s hometown of Las Vegas this weekend for more door-to-door action.  Unlike past events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the races will be held on Friday and Saturday nights under the lights of the speedway.  With only three rounds of competition remaining, every point counts for MacCachren as he fights for the Pro2 Unlimited season championship.  MacCachren is currently tied for season points with fellow ROCKSTAR Energy Drink / Makita Tools driver Brian Deegan.  In addition to being his in home town, Las Vegas is also where MacCachren earned a first place and second place finish last season.

MacCachren suffered a devastating crash last month in Reno, but his crew drove all night from Hemet to get Rob Mac his old championship winning truck to compete on Sunday.    “How lucky am I,” MacCachren asked rhetorically, “to have my title sponsors be an energy drink and a power tool company when me and my team have to work all night long.  We literally could not have raced on Sunday without plenty of ROCKSTAR Energy Drink and the Makita Power Tools in our hands.” Jim Blackmore and Dave Farrugia are now working feverishly to get the damaged truck ready for this weekend’s race in Las Vegas.  Will they make it in time?  No one knows! The only way to find out is to come out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway and see for yourself.

The team’s never-say-die attitude is what has kept MacCachren in the points hunt not just in LOORRS, but also TORC, SCORE, and BITD.  This year he has wheeled the No. 20 ROCKSTAR Energy Drink Trophy Truck to victories in SCORE International’s Laughlin Desert Challenge and the MasterCraft Safety Tecate San Felipe 250, which he won for the second year in a row.  In Best in the Desert, Rob won the iconic Mint 400 and came in second at the Silver State 300 by a mere 14 seconds (both with Steve Sourapas as driver of record).

Rob MacCachren also leads in series points in the TRAXXAS TORC short course series in the Pro 2WD class in his MOPAR RAM, including a victory at the Chairman’s Cup earlier this season and his 200th win on BFGoodrich Tires at historic Crandon International Raceway on Labor Day weekend.  “Every sport has it’s athlete whose success and talent pushed them to the top of their field and become the hero of that sport.  NASCAR – Dale Earnhardt, NBA – Michael Jordan, NFL – Brett Favre, NHL – Wayne Gretzky, Swimming – Michael Phelps, Off Road Racing – Rob MacCachren.  Rob’s success speaks for itself.  His professionalism on and off the track is second to none.  The respect level his racing peers, sponsors, and fans have for Rob sets him apart from any other racer in all of motorsports.  He is a true champion and I would personally like to say a big congratulations to Rob for his 200th win in off road racing and look forward to celebrating many more wins to come,” said Frank DeAngelo, representing BFGoodrich Tires for Jackson Marketing Group.

If you are in the Las Vegas this weekend you will want to come out to Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday and Saturday night to watch the short course action in person.  After the races head over to MacCachren’s pit and grab a cold ROCKSTAR Energy Drink, and hit the town.  If you aren’t in Las Vegas this weekend, get the latest updates on MacCachren’s qualifying times and race results on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/21RobMac.
