Fort Mill, SC – August 29, 2012 –  Wild West Motorsports Park, in Reno, Nevada, provided plenty of wild west racing during rounds 11 and 12 of Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) competition.  It was a brand new track that some drivers took to quickly while others struggled to conquer.  Team GT fared well as up-and-comer Ryan Beat posted his first career LOORRS win in ProLite.

“This weekend was such a great weekend for us,” said Beat after the race.  “We officially moved into second in the points standings and captured our first win in my rookie season.  Huge thanks to General Tire for all the support.”

High speeds and large elevation changes were a challenge for some, but not for Casey Currie who started the weekend off with a win in ProLite on Saturday.  Currie took the lead on lap two and stayed in front of the carnage that ensued on track for the remainder of the race.  Veteran driver Carl Renezeder made a bid for career win number 99 in Pro 4 on Saturday but came up just shy posting a second-place finish.

“Overall this was a great weekend for Team GT,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General Tire.  “It’s a new track for everyone and our team seemed to find their groove pretty quick which showed in our three wins.  It was a good weekend for General Tire and we’re proud of all our guys.”

Sunday saw General tire’s atop the podium two more times.  First off the line was Pro 4 where Renezeder made a fantastic pass in turn two on lap three to take the lead from Curt LeDuc.  Renezeder had his eye on the checkered flag and never looked back leading the remainder of the race and logging career win number 99.  Renezeder made a run for win number 100 in Pro 2 but once again came up shy finishing second to Brian Deegan.

In ProLite action, it was Premiere Motorsports’ Beat who put on a show.  Coming from as far back as fourth, Beat came through the field to lead after the half-way point.  From there, Beat checked out and went on to chalk up his first career ProLite win.

Team GT will return to LOORRS action September 22 and 23 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  For more information on LOORRS, visit www.lucasoiloffroad.com.
