San Bernardino, Calif. – June 16, 2011 – The 2011 Yamaha Quad-X Series presented by STI returns this Saturday, June 18th, for round four at Speedworld MX in Surprise, AZ. Saturday’s race marks the mid-point of the 2011 Quad-X Championship, and will be the first of the season’s two night races.

Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson has won the first three rounds of the series, giving him a perfect score of 75 points in the series standings. Nelson is looking to extend his points lead as he attempts to defend his 2010 Pro 450 Production Class title.

After finishing second overall over the past three rounds, Beau Baron sits only nine points behind Nelson in the series standings. With the series nearing the halfway mark, Baron still has a very realistic chance of winning the 2011 championship if he can find a way to beat Nelson.

Ethan Thatcher remains third in points with 58, after finishing fifth overall at the previous round at Cahuilla Creek MX. At round three, Dirkie Baard and Josh Row battled for third overall, swapping third and fourth place moto finishes. Baard’s third in the second moto earned him the final spot on the overall podium for the day. With the series well underway, expect more intense racing as riders attempt to earn valuable series points.
