The World Extreme Rock Crawling (W.E. Rock) Series headed to the Pima Motorsports Park in Tucson, AZ for their season opener this past weekend.  Team Monster Energy/Campbell Racing would be competing in two classes, Promodified  and Unlimited. The #5az Monster Energy  promodified bug piloted by Nick Campbell and spotter Ryan Miller were on the top of their game, carefully navigating their way through each obstacle. On the 3^rd course( A3) Nick had a good run scoring a 2 but needed recovery getting to the pits.  Thinking he was done due to a blown motor he would 40 the last course but was still in 1^st place at the end of the day. Luck would be on his side this weekend, discovering it was not a blown motor. On day 2, Nick Campbell didn’t budge from his first place position and would go into the shoot out with a point’s lead that would put him on the podium in 1^st place.

Trying to cover both classes, Promod and unlimited  15 year old Wayland Campbell drove his Promod with 40” Goodyear tires in the unlimited class.  This weekend had a lot of ups and downs for Wayland and spotter Shannon.  Although his day started off with a rollover Wayland didn’t let that get him down and finished each course.  On Sunday Wayland pulled off some amazing scores and lines but was DQ’d for exiting the wrong way. Coming up to the final run Wayland knew he had to make up some points and  carved his way through the course with only 1 reverse, having plenty of time to hit the last  bonus before the shootout. Pulling some skating tricks out of his pocket Wayland showed the Pros how to jump off the half pipe without rolling. The crowd went crazy.
