2008 GNCC Racing Underway

A Late Start to the weekend, and the season?

Why was racing postponed 24 hours? We have no idea! This is the only release from GNCC:

MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 2, 2008) -- The Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, America's largest off-road racing series, kicked off its 2008 season today at the Parts Unlimited Triton in Melbourne, Fla. The motocross event is the first of 13 rounds scheduled for this season.

ATV (quad) racing is currently underway, with the Pros scheduled to take the track at 1 p.m. The event continues tomorrow and Tuesday with motorcycle racing.

Directions to the track: I-95 to the Melbourne Exit at State Route 192. Go west on Route 192 (12 mi) to Kempfer Road. Turn left on Kempfer Road. Travel 2 miles to the event.

If you are coming from the Orlando area, take the Florida Turnpike to the St Cloud Exit at State Route 192. Go east on 192 (30 mi) to Kempfer Road. Turn right on Kempfer Road and go (5 mi) to the event.

The Can-Am Grand National Cross Country series is America’s premier off-road racing series. The 13-round championship series is produced exclusively by Racer Productions and has run since 1973. Cross country racing is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world.
