Yamaha Becomes Expedition Safari Sponsor

Oct. 01, 2005 By ORC STAFF
Cypress, CA – July 27, 2005 – Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., manufacturer of world-class all terrain vehicles and other powersports products for the past 50 years, announced it has committed to helping Safari Club International’s mission of protecting the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation worldwide as a corporate sponsor of SCI’s new, exciting television series, Expedition Safari.

“For decades, Yamaha has been helping hunters and other sportsmen make their way to the farthest reaches of the wilderness in pursuit of their traditions,” remarked SCI Executive Director Tom Riley. “Now, this great company is helping SCI protect those traditions as an Expedition Safari sponsor. SCI could not be more honored to engage in this relationship with Yamaha.”

“Yamaha is extremely excited to come on board with Expedition Safari and be named the Official ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) Vehicle of Safari Club International,” says Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV/SxS Communications Manager. “SCI members are avid ATV and SxS users, and Yamaha is looking forward to working closely with SCI as they continue their noble efforts of promoting wildlife conservation and protecting the freedom to hunt.”

The sponsorship will help develop and expand upon a variety of mutually beneficial, media-based cross platform marketing initiatives promoting Expedition Safari. The partnership will help bring SCI’s important message to the hunting public, and Yamaha’s clientele in particular. Expedition Safari will subsequently raise Yamaha’s visibility among SCI’s 46,000-member family of avid outdoor sporting enthusiasts from around the world, as well as the television series’ ever-expanding audience.

In further support of SCI and SCI’s mission, Yamaha will donate a new 2006 Rhino 660 all terrain vehicle to SCI, to be auctioned off during the evening events of SCI’s upcoming 34th Annual Hunters’ Convention, taking place Jan. 18-21, 2006 in Reno, Nevada.

This revolutionary off-road vehicle, which is ideal for traversing even the most difficult terrain, comes with Yamaha’s exclusive On-Command® push button 2WD/4WD system, independent front and rear suspension, and an Ultramatic® automatic transmission boasting the industry’s best all-wheel engine braking system. Genuine Yamaha Accessories on the Rhino will include (but are not limited to) a multifunction LCD instrument panel, a heavy-duty winch kit, a molded cargo cover, a molded sun top, custom-shaped rubber floor mats, a front bumper guard, a wind deflector, a deluxe gun boot and a front sport rack with an accompanying bag.
