John Deere Announces Special Edition Midnight Black Gators

John Deere recently announced two new special edition models that are sneaking into dealerships here at the end of the 2014 model year. The 2014 Midnight Black XUV825i and RSX850i models, which will only be offered in limited quantities, will be painted in a custom-matte black paint scheme that features charcoal gray graphics. The vehicle are available now at select dealers, but not every location will have the models.

The limited-edition Midnight Black models will provide buyers with a unique vehicle that John Deere feels is becoming more appealing to buyers.

“More and more outdoor enthusiasts are on the lookout for limited build custom vehicles,” said David Gigandet, John Deere marketing manager, Gator utility vehicles. “These new models provide customers the durability and productivity they’ve come to expect with Gators, but in a unique and stylish theme that will capture the attention of John Deere fans and the utility vehicle market.”

The XUV825i Midnight Black Special Edition Gator will be powered by a 812cc motor that produces 50 horsepower. Sporting its matte black paint scheme and charcoal graphics, the XUV825i will also feature a sport steering wheel, power steering, a high-performance exhaust, long-range light kit and poly half doors. To complement the dark paintjob, John Deere fitted the model matt black alloy rims that are fitted with Maxxis 2.0 Bighorn tires. It also features a deluxe cargo box equipped with a spray-on liner. John Deere also offers a power and front protection package for those who want a power lift, heavy-dity brushguard and fender guard and floor mats.

The sport-minded crowd will point its attention the other Might Black Special Edition Gator, the RSX850i, which is powered by an 839cc powerplant that produces 62 horsepower. The RSX850i version features black-and-silver alloy rims fitted with Maxxis 2.0 Bighorn tires. For added protection for the trail, the RSX is fitted with a full underbody aluminum skid plate, while Fox 2.0 Performance Series shocks helps provide the suspension performance this buyer expects. Mounted Hella HID sports light are featured, as well as a 2-inch front receiver hitch, side nerf bars, and high-performance sport seats. The trail-sport package features a special-edition door-closeout panel with a Gator image on it, a prerunner-style bumper and a Warn 3,500-pound winch.
