2003 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4

Oct. 01, 2005 By ORC STAFF
Hunters and farmers are similar in that both want equipment that will help them
accomplish their goals, whether it's hauling a tree stand to a secluded hunting spot or towing 12 bales of hay to pasture. To that end, the Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4 offers the dependability they want with the value they appreciate.

The Bayou 300 4x4 is powered by a 290cc air-cooled SOHC four-stroke engine that is matched to a dual-range, five-speed-plus-reverse transmission with an automatic clutch. Selecting the low range on the dual-range transmission gives the rider the ability to climb steep, rocky trails or crawl through muddy fields at a slow, steady pace and also maximizes the effect of the engine's compression to help slow the Bayou 300 4x4 when descending steep hills. The transmission's high range gives the rider the ability to travel at a pace more suitable to open spaces. With dependable shaft drive providing power to the full-time four-wheel drive and limited-slip front differential, the rider can choose the perfect gear for field or trail conditions.

Stopping power for the Bayou 300 4x4 is provided by dual front disc brakes and a sealed rear drum brake. Front suspension duties are handled by dual A-arms and dual shocks, while the rear suspension features a compliant, semi-independent suspension system with dual shocks.

For long hunting expeditions or field work, the Bayou 300 4x4 has steel front and rear cargo racks that can carry more than 200 pounds of gear. And with an optional Kawasaki trailer, it can tow up to 700 pounds.

Other features include electric start, an easy-to-read fuel gauge, a snorkel air intake for deep water crossings, and a mold-pin accessory connector that makes hooking up electrical accessories quick and easy.

Available in new Aztec Red or traditional Hunter Green colors, the Bayou 300 4x4 has a suggested retail price of $4,999 and comes with a six-month warranty that can extended up to three additional years.
