 Seemingly out of nowhere, Manny
Esquerra of Parker AZ, routed the field in Stock Full,
being the sole truck to complete all 10 laps in the
class. Esquerra, who's no stranger to the winners circle,
Posted a time of 2hr. 51 min. and 10 sec. on hos way to
the Laughlin victory. Esquerra's victory put yet another
Ford in the winners circle in this largely Ford dominated
event.Bob Hayley's F-150 moved ahead of Marc Stein' s Ford in the points chase on the strength of his 2nd place finish, vs. Stein's 5th. The battle will carry on in Baja this coming November, with each driver looking take the Season Championship, and the Baja 1000 title in one fell swoop. Mike McComas finished up in 3rd, covering 8 laps in under 2hr 36 min. While McComas, like Esquerra, is not in the running for the championship, his 3rd to Dave Sykes 4th, put sykes even farther away from the point leaders, and dashing any hopes for pulling a rabbit out of a hat in Baja. The #865 truck of Randy Merrit pulled up the rear, completing 3 of the 10 laps in just over 1hr 4 min.
