There was a big shake-up in the
Lites points chase, begun by the victory of Dave
Callaway. That win moved him into the point lead as well.
Callaway Fought tooth and nail with the 2nd place
finisher George Erl all weekend, but by the end, he had
developed a narrow 1 min. 6 sec. lead on the challenger. In the absence of Danny Anderson,
Erl moved into 4th in points, and is verry close to Tom
Riddings 3rd (in light of his dissapointing 5th place
finish) The attrition that plagued
the 10 cars, manifested in the former 10s as well. Pre
Laughlin point leader Ron Dalke settled for 3rd position,
completing 9 0f the 10 laps with a time of 2:28:33 in the
effort. Steve Grinke, Also at 9 laps, finished 4th, with
a time well behind Greinke at 2:44:40.At 3 laps
completed, and a 6th plase showing, was Tom Ridings. Once again, we will look to Baja for the series
Championship. The top 5 positions are up for grabs with
Baja's point system, and the SCORE Lites will bear close
watching at the 1000 for some of the most competitive
racing of the 97 season. | Position | Name | Laps | Time |
