Class 11

Class had a rough day with all 3 entrants completing 6 of the 10 laps.In the end, 1996 Champion Victor Barajas stood victorious with an over 4 min. lead on the 2nd place Horacio Pereya. Pereya & Barajas heve exchanged victories throughout the season, leaving them closely locked in a points battle going into the Baja 1000.

In 3rd was Eric Solozaro with a time of 2:20:47. Solzaro, who finished 7th in the 97 Baja 500, improved his point standing in the series on the strength of his finish.

During the 97 season, Class 11 has been dominated by Mexican racers. The Baja events always result in a strong turnout from both sides of the border, but it looks like the Class 11 title will be once again staying in Baja.
