this is a question, not a comment. i have a 88 yota 4x4 with a 22re that is junk. ive looked at my options and weighed them all out and am thinking about buying a 22re from my buddy, but it is out of an 84 motorhome, would this motor bolt onto my manual trans and what other problems might i have?

just tree things here, the dispacement for the engines is wrong, on my toyota firewall plates here it says, 20R 2189cc/133.6cu.in. and 22R 2366cc/144.4cu.in. there was just one cc added to both engines. 75 was the first year for the 20R, not 72. not only were 20R rockers cast iron, but my 81 toyota has cast iron ones as well. and thats a 22R. can anyone tell me if a 22r carb will bolt onto a 20R intake?

i resently converted my 1977 toyota 20r to a different carb setup. although the motor is in a 1977 celica, it would be perfect in a truck. i took an extremely aboundant carb and redrilled the intake to make it work. i used a carter 2barrell off a dodge 318 v8. i blocked off all antifreeze lines that used to run to the bottom of the carb, and replaced one of the old censors with a brass nipple and just diverted the flow of coolant back to the engine. the torque is amazing! take into mind i also run a 3inch high flow exhaust and 14by3inch air cleener. i welcome all questions. Great info on the site and thanks for all your help!
