90 pickup 4x4 Tranny Prob!! O.K. bought this truck. owner installed a new auto trans. it doesnt always shift to overdrive. going down a steep hill it will shift into overdrive but not too long it downshift into drive. mi. 168,689 does this tranny use vacum for shifting???? trying to sell it cause of the problem, really wanna keep it!!!

I have a Toyota 4X4 with a 5 speed manual transmission. I was wondering if there was any kind of marking tags (identifiers) on it. I believe it is a W56. Would a G58 fit bell housing and transfer case without modifications.

Will a trans 4 speed out of an 81 toyota bolt up and work in a 87 toyota and if so what kind of difference will I notice between the 5 speed that was in it and the 4 speed from the 81
