No doubt about it, the Labor Day weekend race at Crandon International Raceway is the big show. This year, not only was the crowd huge, but the intensity on the racetrack was clearly (almost painfully) evident as well. There were big, hairy crashes in Crandon's infamous Turn 1 that included the likes of Johnny Greaves and Chad Horde. In 2006, it's been obvious that the increased competitiveness and field size, in every class, has raised the bar in terms of guys trying hard to get to the front with more traffic in the way of getting there. In other words, it's been the perfect recipe for great racing. |
