While swapping out the 4 cylinder 22-RE from my 1986 Toyota 4-Runner with an I6 7M-GE from a 1987 Toyota Supra, one of the obstacles I had to overcome was how to cool the larger engine. |

August 2001 -- Removal of the 22-RE from the 4-Runner was pretty much identical to removal of the 7M-GE from the Supra drain the fluids, disconnect the lines, and pull it out. The only thing special I had to do was to support the front of the transmission with some tie straps. I needed to be able to roll the vehicle in and out of my garage throughout the swap, and I was hoping I could complete the swap without dropping out the tranny/transfer case. |

July 2001 -- I have spent a lot of time and money (at least on my budget) over the past couple of years to get my truck where it is today, and it is just about done- alright, the suspension will NEVER be completely done, but everything else I am pretty happy with. Except for one little thing -- power. Or, more precisely, the lack thereof. |
