As part of a plan to provide for a safer off-highway vehicle recreation experience, the Siuslaw National Forest is banning alcohol possession in off-highway vehicle riding areas in the Sand Lake Recreation Area and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.

Designated Routes- 6,140 acres : Class I, II and III ATVs are allowed only on designated routes. Site location: 40 miles of coastline between Florence and Coosbay, spanning Lane, Douglas and Coos counties

The Oregon Dunes are part of the Siuslaw National Forest, managed by the USFS. They are divided into two sections: The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and The Sand Lake Recreation Area.
Sand Lake Recreation Area Sand Lake Section - Between Tillamook & Pacific City 700 acres of Open Sand and trails. OHV Beach Access.
