The Nissan 720 4wd FAQ File

The Datsun/Nissan 720 pickup was Nissan's first foray into the 4 wheel drive mini-pickup market. It was introduced as a 1980 model and continued until 1986 when the current Hardbody style (model D-21) was introduced as a 1986.5 model.

For a long time in the Nissan Community there haven't been too many manufacturers of quality parts. We had the usual upper control arm lifts and Smittybuilt tube accessories. Trailmaster with its massive 4" lift and Fabtech with their 3" 2wd lift kits. But until recently with the release of the Xterra we are seeing more and more companies specializing Nissan parts. This month I'll go deep on two known companies and talk to them about what's going on and what's coming up.

Chris James had a problem with his '95 Pathfinder -- to make it more trailworthy, he originally went with the usual IFS lift route (two-stage torsion bars, Old Man Emu shocks, Rancho coils, and so on).
