My Samurai was a purchase of necessity. When I changed jobs in 1994, I was driving a 74 Dodge Charger that did 13 seconds in the quarter mile, but got less than 10 mpg on the street. My new job was a 40-mile round trip, and it didnt pay that much. I found the Sami in a store parking lot with a For Sale sign in the window. A 92 with 16k on the odometer and a very low price tag was the answer to my problem. But the first time I locked the hubs and hit the desert, it felt good& real good. The rest is history.

he middle of March this year turned out to be the perfect time of year for a Central California Suzuki gathering. The ASA (American Suzuki Association) and ORC (Off-Road.com) had been planning this event for quite a while, and really lucked out with the timing. The week prior to the Hollister MudMash was nothing but rain, transforming Hollister Hills SVRA--South of California's Bay Area--into a mud bath, but the weekend provided us with warmth and sunshine, making the camping and 4-wheeling conditions absolutely perfect.
