 | Sounding Off from the Passenger Seat December 1, 2006 By:Nicole MacMillan
I guess you could say that I am an off-roader by marriage. On our first date, my husband included a surprise detour over an 11 foot dirt embankment near the back of the multiplex theatre-and to think I innocently thought we were just going to see a movie

 | You Need It; You Just Don't Know It Yet. December 1, 2006 By:Manny MacMillan
I had heard about the new Hummer H1 Hood Lift from Rubberduck4x4, but even after it had arrived at my garage I had a hard time getting excited about it. I always pictured that a contraption like this belonged on a blinged-out show truck with multiple LCD screens at different angles in useless places, surrounded by neon tubes.

 | Half-shaft retainers from H123andMore November 1, 2006 By:Manny MacMillan
Until recently, the only solution available that ensured these bolts would stay put was a kit offered by Rod Hall Products, consisting of half-shaft bolts with heads that are pre-drilled for safety wire to hold them from twisting out of place. The kit includes everything needed, but it is expensive and requires some skill to install properly. It is a great option for a serious racer, but not ideal for the typical H1 owner.

 | When you get stuck in deep mud just grab a shovel and start digging like a madman September 1, 2006 By:Manny MacMillan
I know you've heard this before: if you are going to drive off-road you should always go out with two or more trucks. Many Hummer owners are mavericks with little more than a marginal degree of self-control, however-- so the urge to go out on a trail can?t always be curbed.

 | Despite the pouring rain, everyone had a great time and none of the rigs got seriously hung up or stuck August 1, 2006 By:Manny MacMillan
My 18-month old son's favorite toy is a yellow plastic Hummer H2. He pushes it all around the house loudly proclaiming "big truck!" to anyone that will listen. I figured it was about time he saw what it was like to go out and see the real trucks in action.
