RamHack's 1996 Ram 2500

November 1, 2005

This is a mighty V-10 powered Dodge. From the factory, it is supposed to have 300 Horsepower and some 450 ft. lbs. of torque. With some minor mods, I'm sure that I'm making a little more than that. I'll try to get more info about the engine and mods in the future.

This 1985 Suzuki Samurai started out as a parts truck. One night we got talking about putting a V6 into it. I had a 3.8L Buick so we started the conversion. This was a tough conversion, you need to lift the truck just to get the motor in. It now has a spring-over, shackle reversal, front-end moved 2" ahead for more tire clearance. It runs 35/12.50-15 on 15x10 rims. The motor is out of a 79 Turbo Regal (less the turbo) with a 200R4 transmission (needed for highway driving), transfer case was moved back 4½", custom built drive shafts and ladder-bars in back. The body is in good shape it just needs paint& bad!

Idler Arm Install

OK here we go. The need for the idler arm brace is due to the inherent weakness of any IFS equipped vehicle.
