Every once and a wile I would scrap a rock and it would deform my retainer ring, which holds the felt gasket and rubber gasket in place. I would then have to replace it with spares. Well, somebody finally has addressed this issue. Enter the Trail Gear rock ring.
You can see in this side-by-side comparison just how beefy the new piece is. The stock piece is a mere .040" thick, and the new Trail Gear rock ring is .125" thick. I don't think I will be bending this anytime soon.
The installation of these is super easy, just unbolt the stock ones and bolt up the new ones. I went one step further and installed SS button head screws. (pic below)
The final result—looks good, and is very strong. If you are in need of a replacement ring, give Trail Gear a call. You will not find a better product out there.
