Simple and Effective

We were recently contacted about a new product available for Toyota pickup owners. Since one of the newest additions to our staff vehicle list just happened to be a 1995 Toyota Pickup we were instantly curious. We inquired further to find out this new product was a CB bracket. Hmm a CB bracket. Well we definitely had on our list to mount a CB in the Toyota but had not put any thought into how we would do that. A CB radio can be very handy in a trail rig so as to communicate with your trail buddies. In fact just a month or so ago we went on a little trip and ended up plugging a CB into the cigarette lighter with a magnetic antenna so we could communicate with the rest of the crew. This worked but the CB was not exactly handy and kept sliding around, under, and over everything.

Well lucky for us Randy Haskins from East Burke Off-Road HAD spent some time thinking about and resolving the issue. Randy's personal 4x4 is a Toyota pickup and so he designed his own CB mount. Soon other Toyota owners seen his solution and liked it. The new bracket was so popular Randy decided he should make the product available to the rest of the Toyota community.

Randy sent us the new bracket to try in our Toyota. As most Toyota owners know there is not a lot of extra room to work with. Randy designed the new CB bracket to mount where the mirror/dome light mount so as to place it up high and out of the way. Installation was a snap. We popped the dome cover off, removed the three bolts, and we were ready for the new bracket. We first mounted our CB mount to the bracket then placed the bracket and mirror in position. With some locktite applied to the bolts we bolted the new bracket in place. Could it be any simpler. Next we attached our CB.

The easy part was done. For a clean install you will want to run the antenna wire and power wires through the headliner and down the door post to their final resting location.

Summary

We have had the CB mounted in our Toyota for a couple weeks now and are very pleased with the location. It is very handy and it also places the CB speaker in a nice location so that you can hear it with out mounting an external speaker. The bracket retails for a measly $24.95.It will fit any 1989-1995 pickup with the standard rear view mirror mount. We give Randy two thumbs up for this simple but effective CB bracket.
