Geo Tracker -- Chevrolet's international line of
affordable, fun-to-drive sport-utility vehicles -- introduces two new rugged and
youthful models for 1991.
A new standard model -- available in hardtop and
convertible body styles -- and a new entry-level 2-wheel drive (2WD) convertible
join the uplevel Tracker LSi.
Both the new standard and 2-wheel drive
convertible Trackers have black bumpers, black outside rear view mirrors, black
door handles and body side moldings. Black-out trim at the door, B-pillar and
upper quarter areas has been eliminated to provide more area for custom paint or
graphics.
The standard Tracker includes new rear anti-lock
brake system on the front disc/rear drum layout; full-size, rear mounted spare
tire; rear seat and center console; tachometer gauge package; P205/75R15
on/off-road tires; dual OSRV mirrors; and tow hooks.
Scotchgard™ fabric protection has been added in
1991 on seats and door trim.
All Trackers are powered by a Suzuki 1.6L,
electronic fuel injected, 4-cylinder engine, rated at 80 horsepower at 5400 rpm.
A 5-speed manual transmission is standard and an optional 3-speed automatic is
available on all 4-wheel drive models.
New 15-inch styled steel wheels are part of the
uplevel Tracker LSi's impressive list of standards along with tinted glass;
AM/FM stereo radio; intermittent wipers; automatic locking hubs; reclining
high-back bucket seats with adjustable head restraints; floor mats (front/rear);
rear window wiper/washer (hardtop); P205/75R15 on/off-road white-letter tires
and a spare tire cover.
Five new exterior colors are available in 1991.
Tracker is sold and serviced through the
nationwide Chevrolet-Geo dealer network. It is built for Chevrolet by CAMI
Automotive, Inc., a joint Suzuki-GM Canada venture located in Ingersoll,
Ontario, Canada.

1991 base model Tracker 4WD is revised to
include black front and rear bumpers, black side view mirrors,
revised badging in bright green or orange, revised molding treatment
and rear wheels caps with “4x4” in accent color.
1.6 Liter Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) L4
with throttle-body Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) and 5-speed
manual transmission with overdrive standard.
Base 4WD models have manual locking hubs.
LSi models include automatic locking hub, AM/FM
stereo and front and rear mats in addition to new argent steel
wheels, white outline-lettered tires, Custom Cloth interior,
intermittent wipers, spare tire cover and tinted glass.
Optional 3-speed automatic transmission
available with 4WD.
