POWERTANK SYSTEM- Utilizing the latest in technology, Advanced Air Systems provides a complete package for all off-roaders. With the ability to operate air-powered tools, bead tires, and fill all the tires of the vehicles in your group on a single PT-10 tank, is almost unbelievable. ORC staffer, Desertbull, has used this system for nearly 2 years without fail. PowerTank supplies the power to operate in the dirt. ELK GROVE, CA -- If you travel in the dirt or the back-country, you must be prepared for a mechanical mishap. Whether you have a flat tire or broken shock, mechanical breakdowns can put a squash on your off-road experience. Of course, you can't anticipate every problem, but you can limit your exposure to being stuck in the dirt by having the right tools and equipment in your vehicle. The POWERTANK is a product that addresses all the needs of on-board air. It consists of pressurized liquid CO2 in an aluminum cylinder, which is released as a vapor through a special heavy duty regulator. This system is different than most as it uses an extremely high pressure tank. The POWERTANK can air up tires, run air tools, and much more while while you're out on the trail, the race course, the side of the road, or even in your garage. It is fast, affordable, and simple to use. It is light weight, portable, and reliable, and it is THE fastest way to air up tires. The POWER TANK has the power and speed of a belt driven (A/C) compressor and the portability and lower cost of some 12 volt compressors. The POWER TANK can air up a 33" truck tire in less than one minute, remove a stuck lug nut in two seconds using a 1/2" impact wrench, and quickly reseat a tire bead while the wheel is still on the vehicle. ORC staffers never travel to a race without the PowerTank system charged and ready to roll. And portability is a must when you need to help a friend who is difficult to get to. No other air system can do all of this - at any price.
Air Anywhere & Anytime The outlet pressure is adjustable at the regulator from 0 - 150 p.s.i. constant pressure. Output pressure does not drop toward the end of the PowerTank's capacity, just as any typical air tank. The concept is simple. The POWER TANK stores its massive amount of energy as liquid CO2. The liquid CO2 evaporates inside the aluminum cylinder and builds pressure which is released as a vapor gas (compressed air) through the regulator. As the gas is used, more liquid evaporates inside the aluminum cylinder thus regenerating the pressure. Once the cylinder pressure reaches a certain level - normally 700 - 800 p.s.i. - the evaporative process stops until gas pressure is released again. CO2 gas is non toxic, non-corrosive, and totally inert. This means it is safe on your air tools, rubber tires, and metal wheels. And the thermal expansion rate of CO2? - Similar to air. Air up to 39 tires, 33-inch in size We've all seen 4X4's and tow trucks carrying air tanks with compressed air to fill flat tires. The truth is, these bulky tanks store very little energy. A PT-10 POWER TANK™ is less than half the size of a 5 gallon air tank yet holds 20 times the energy. A 5-gallon air tank pressurized to 125 p.s.i. will air up two (2) 33X12.5" truck tires from 10 to 20 p.s.i. The PT10 will air up 39 of the same tires. Remarkable! And get this! Each "air up" will take only 30 seconds with the POWER TANK. The PT-5 will air up 20 tires; the PT-15 will air up 60 tires. The components of the POWERTANK are all heavy duty and built for safety. The service pressure rating of our 6061-T6 aluminum cylinder is 1800 p.s.i. with a maximum pressure rating of 3000+ p.s.i. although the normal cylinder pressure range for CO2 is only 700 to 800 p.s.i. depending on material level and the ambient temperature. There is also a safety "pop-off" valve built into the main valve set to release pressure if it ever reached 3000 p.s.i. (ie. fire or accidental overfill). Our cylinders are brand new and are DOT Approved. The adjustable regulator limits the maximum outlet pressure to 150 p.s.i. Finally, the handle at the top doubles as a guard protecting the regulator and valve from getting knocked and damaged. It is made of solid 6061-T6 rod and billet and secured to the cylinder with 3/8" stainless steel bolts. Naturally, whenever handling high pressure equipment, precautions and common sense must be practiced.
POWER SHOT SYSTEM The Power Shot System is a simpler, less expensive version of the renowned Power Tank™ system though it can be used in many of the same applications. The main The Power Shot uses a NON-ADJUSTABLE Super Flow™ regulator that is preset at 150 p.s.i., whereas the Super Flow™ regulator on the Power Tank™ is fully adjustable from 0-150 p.s.i. There are also no pressure gauges on the Power Shot™ regulator. Though other minor differences are certain, you won’t see a difference in its incredible tire inflation speed! The Power Shot™ SuperFlow™ regulator is built specifically for the “Super Flow” of CO2. Most standard CO2 regulators are not made for high-flow applications. Therefore, they have problems regulating continuous high flow due to extensive temperature drops in CO2 gas (-70 degrees Fahrenheit), face ice clogging and probable destruction to internal parts. Power Shot™ regulators are manufactured to withstand these subfreezing temperatures and come with a longer warranty than that of any other manufacturer.
The Power Shot™ tanks can be taken to a local welding supply or fire extinguisher shop for a CO2 refill. Call ahead to make sure they perform the refill onsite rather than send it out to another location. You also should remove your regulator from the cylinder before you take it in, and do not allow them to just exchange your tank with one of theirs. Some shops have their own CO2 pumps and will fill it while you wait. The average cost to refill is $10-$12. Power Shot ERS (Emergency Repair System) is an on-board air and tire repair system designed and packaged specifically for the RV, passenger car, and commercial truck markets. Using stored CO2 in a safe, lightweight aluminum tank, outlet pressure is regulated through a simple-to-use, specialized Power Shot™ regulator, designed for continuous high flow. The ERS comes complete with a dual head (or clip-on chuck) tire inflator with a dial gauge for easy, accurate inflations as well as the welcome convenience of a large tire plug kit. The Power Shot ERS is the only portable system capable of rapid inflation of large high-pressure RV tires requiring up to 120+ p.s.i. The compact PS-10 ERS (or its big brother the PS-15 ERS) fits easily into car trunks and RV storage compartments. Weighing just 27 pounds while full of CO2 (36 pounds for the PS-15), the Power Shot™ is very manageable. Whether for the largest of RVs or commercial rigs, or the smaller passenger car, Power Shot™ ERS can be transported safely and, once filled, will hold C02 indefinitely without losing pressure. (The Power Shot™ is also available in a compact 5-pound tank size.)
