Mr. Dune Speaks Out

Well here we go again! The BLM was finally on the right track, why at the Presidents Day Bash I even saw BLM Enforcement giving warnings instead of tickets at Olsdmobile Hill. Way to go guys! Thanks for treating us with respect; we'll be glad to work with you to keep the area safe. Why even the Mr. himself had a brief lapse of sanity and was let off the hook for riding over to the bushes for a little territorial marking without my skid lid. Giving me a ticket would not have had any more of a corrective effect than the stern talkin' to I received, thanks for the courtesy, I knew better.

On to the matters at hand; At the Clean Up Day Elayn Briggs from the BLM, was trying to get momentum going for a pay per use fee at Glamis. First things first, this is sheer insanity, regardless of the position of the BLM that all monies earned at the Imperial Sand Dunes would stay in the area for "improvements" by charter. Let me just ask you where the hell all my "Green Sticker" money has gone? We cannot trust the Government when it comes to the proper direction of funds. Their credibility was shot long before this crusty old gearhead popped his first wheelie. These guys will steal our hard-earned money and spend it on stealing more money. I see all kinds of fancy toys for the BLM on the horizon, they get the mine and once again we get the shaft! The Kings tea is in the harbor, and it's time to put on our war paint and throw a little party!

Secondly, how the hell will they ever manage this nightmare? With dozens of entrances to the Dunes as well as miles of open access, how are they going to control it? I see fences! Big scary fences with concertina wire and guard kiosks staffed 24 hours a day to control ingress and egress to our sacred hunting grounds. Fences that we will pay for to keep us out, fences that when the Sierra Club once again turns its evil eye towards us, will be used to lock us out! The BLM says "Oh my, but the fee will be so small, why only about $5 per day."

Well screw them, they can get their money to lock us out and hire dozens of more employees to collect, police, count and squander from their own budget. This will be a draconian advance on our liberties and I for one will not sit idly by and be led to the slaughter like some simpering sheep. Five dollars a day is my Boardmanville cheeseburger budget. Can you afford it? I can't, I spend 25 weekends a year or more in the Dunes. That translates to over $500 a year with Thanksgiving and Easter. Can Chuck Boardman afford people not coming to his store for lunch because the BLM broke the bank? This idea is garbage and we need to rally NOW! If we sit on our hands we will be screwed over once again. There will be no new bathrooms, there will be no new camping pads, and there will only be a more bloated bureaucracy to deal with on our vacation from the insanity of everyday life. Let's kick some ass gang! Just click on Elayn Briggs and send her your thoughts.

WE CANNOT LET THEM GET THIS GOING! DO NOT PAY AGAIN FOR WHAT IS OURS! THROW THE KINGS TEA INTO THE HARBOR!

They want to start this by Easter to screw the families that slave like dogs all year to come and have a little quality time with their friends and children out of their hard earned bucks. So the time to mobilize is now, any groups, clubs or other organizations that would like a link from this page to join the fight please E-mail me A.S.A.P. with your URL and I'll add you to the bottom of this page.

Far be it from me to cast such a big stone without a plan of my own. Let's see how about some pay per use stuff that people will want to participate in? How about a timed drag strip staffed by volunteers with a fee per run and a liability disclaimer. Any one would gladly cough up a few dinero to see where the sand starts and the BS stops. And, oh my! Maybe they could even control the crowd to keep morons like Robbie Gordon from acting like the reckless, poor sportsman they are. And endangering the crowd with their sophomoric shenanigans. At Presidents Day some drunken fool was trying to emulate poster child for little man's complex Robbie's stupidity and crashed into the crowd almost killing his own alcohol soaked ass. It was a miracle that no one was hurt. The need is there for some sanctioned sand drags, let's make it happen! Why with a piece of paper and a crayon we can even keep track of who wins and have a series. Gee whiz, maybe we could get ESPN to come and play in the sand and give us some real press!

There are as many ideas as people out there in our Sandbox. So, let's get the juices flowing and keep those cards and letters coming! If you have a plan or idea that really would generate some revenue and not let the BLM get fat on our wallets lets share them. I'm mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore!
