Why do I bring up San Fran rather than the slew of other U.S. locales they are looking to wipe out? It's simple: It serves them liberal dirt-bag Commies up in San Fran quite well. After all, it's the Mecca of Liberalism (MoL). They'd just assume sell your ass into servitude and aim your guns at "The Flag for which We Stand" than to save the environment or propagate freedom. Davey Vision: America, you may as well shoot yourself in the head than align yourself with a liberal. There'll be more on S.O.S. suicides, cowardice, duty, honor, country and courage later on in these episodes DDT. Got it? Get! Onward! Now granted, San Fran has a dismally healthy conglomeration of patriotic Americans in its ranks, doing exactly what it is they were born to do: Serve God and Country, living in the trenches of Liberal Ville, pursuing happiness, riding the piss out of their XRs, scouting-out the enemy and calling The Hit on the everyday Lib. The Sierra Club Now, you may be scratching your backside, attempting to rummage up a reason why the hell a dude named Davey would have a gripe with the SC, but try one further. I'm an "Endangered" Desert Tortoise. Davey Vision:Endangered My Ass!
Anyway, it would seem a paradox that a damned DT would be pissed off at a bunch of whacked-out eco-freaks. But then again, it would seem a paradox that America would allow a dictatorship such as the SC to have a controlling hand in its affairs of freedom in the first place. Let me tell you. It was a Godsend, hooking up with ORC. You see, I'm a pissed off, patriotic, loud-mouthed, never-say-surrender American DT, who sure ain't gonna' take it in the shell from the SC, nor their operative arm, the BLM. So here I am. I speak for all those who go unspoken. And in the world of DTs, that's one hell of a voice. But, try one further. I speak for all of those cocooned conservatives who don't know that they have the Heart and Will to boisterously voice the prowess and superiority of a born, bred and red-blooded, flag-flying American. I was born of, by, for and to propagate freedom. I lay down my liberty never. I take it to the highest alter, "for which we stand!" I was born atop the dust of the earth, a turtle. As I extend my extremities from my shell, I stand on the land from which our forefathers yelled, "Give me Liberty or Give me death." I breathe in the breath from which I came: "Life! Lord! Liberty!" I call unto you, "Off Roaders unite!" Crawl from your crevice, ye dusty-old desert rats in rotted-out Jeeps and 70 year-old sand rails, ye throttle jockeys amid 2-stroke, mx'ers, Baja racers, rock crawlers and otherwise.
I call out to you Kawasaki, Honda, Jeep and Ford. I call out to you Ricky Carmichael, Ivan Stewart, Johnny Campbell and Currie. From Baja to the Rubicon, from Red Bud to around the world, Off Roaders Unite! Mountain Bikers, hikers, dirt bikers, men, woman, families and friends, who take freedom to the limit and live to its utmost expanses, take that which is not lost and hold it sacred - our freedom to enjoy our land, forever free, to roam the earth at will. CA-BLM: Bureau of Liberal Militants It's been said that the letters "CA-BLM" serve as an acronym for the California Bureau of Land Mismanagement, but the jackass who said that was playing pansy ass and side stepping the real roots of the California Bureau of Land Management. Is sort of makes one wonder if the guy who said that was actually a liberal rather than a softballed conservative. Either way, let's get it straight. The CA-BLM is the sole operative for Eco-Nazis on the Left Coast, using their defacto authority to eliminate our freedoms and foist their communist flagpole up our whazoo. For this reason, DDT hereby pronounces the CA-BLM as the California Bureau of Liberal Militants. There's no need for me to explain, just take a look at their actions. Davey Vision - Let's see here. There a few exceptions to the rule though. When I think back, I think back to a time when my old buddy Jack Waldron, the hell raising dirt biker, was roaming the Mojave dez. You know Jack, don't you? He's legend. Where have all the years gone? I could tell you some stories of old Jack, but I'm about at the end of my leash on time. Happy Hour is a calling at the Slash and our favorite watering hole isn't brewing any more before the night is through. Davey Conscientious Analysis - Ya still need to say that the California BLM is as bad as a bullet in the butt, but the BLM - now that's a slightly different story. Of particular note are some of the upstanding folks in the Nevada BLM. A great many of them support OHV'ers while others are truely supportive of hunting, ranching and general Common Sense land use. They are good people. Don't piss them off. They'll poop down a turtle throat just as quick as they'll do an Eco-Freak. They're like you and I Davey. Wrong is wrong, and right is right. You need to zero in on those that are tyrants and lawless.
Closed by Default To give you a bit of insight as to how the idiots within the BLM function, we'll leave you this month with a recent news release of theirs. The Bureau of Land Management did replace the following statement with a more subdued attack on our off-road freedom, but I believe the underlying premise remains the same, just as our buddy Roy Denner does, a veteran of the fight and head honcho of the Off Road Business Association (ORBA). Roy Denner: "This is not simply an incorrect news release. It is posted on the BLM California Desert District website as follows: " ---the BLM has issued a decision record to temporarily close to vehicle use specified routes of travel in the lower Chemehuevi Valley in San Bernardino County and all driveable washes in Eastern San Barnardino, Riverside, and Imperial counties. "As far as I am concerned, this is printed officially on the BLM website and represents the BLM's action. As such, it obviously takes precedence over any posting on the CDD news release site. Is it any wonder that the OHV community has no confidence in the CA Desert District management?" For Immediate Release: October 19, 2001 CA-610-02-07
Contact: Doran Sanchez (909) 697-5220 BLM Decision Temporarily Closes Certain Routes in CDCA In an effort to reduce impacts to sensitive resources and desert tortoise habitat, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has issued a decision record to temporarily close to vehicle use specified routes of travel in the lower Chemehuevi Valley in San Bernardino County and all driveable washes in eastern San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial counties. All the routes are on public lands within the California Desert Conservation Area (CDCA). These interim closures are effective immediately, and will provide additional protection to the threatened desert tortoise (a Federally listed species) and its habitat. Authority for the closure is found in 43 Code of Federal Regulations 8341.2(a). BLM
is implementing the closures as part of a settlement agreement
reached in response to a lawsuit filed by the Center for Biological
Diversity, the Sierra Club, and the Public Employees for
Environmental Responsibility regarding the Endangered Species
Act.
As specified in the settlement agreement, all these temporary
closures will remain in effect until BLM consults with the Fish and
Wildlife Service as required by the Endangered Species Act and
completes the Northern and Eastern Colorado Desert (NECO) Plan now
being developed with full public participation. The affected areas include: Certain routes on public lands in the lower Chemehuevi Valley in San Bernardino County would also be closed to all motorized use. These closures would continue until final route designations can be approved and implemented through the NECO Plan. For more information contact BLM's Needles Office at (760) 326-7000. All driveable washes on public lands in eastern San Bernardino, Riverside, and Imperial counties not identified as specific motorized vehicle routes in the Draft NECO plan (released for public review on February 23, 2001) will be closed to all motorized vehicle use. These closures will continue until final route designations can be approved and implemented through the NECO Plan. For more information contact BLM's Palm Springs Field Office at (760) 251-4800. Fire, emergency, or law enforcement vehicles official use are exempt from the closures. In addition, on certain specific routes, valid mining claim holders are exempt from the closure to access their claims. The decision may be appealed through Monday, November 26, 2001, to the Interior Board of Land Appeals, Office of the Secretary, in accordance with regulations contained in 43 CFR Part 4. The decision records, maps and supporting environmental documents are available from each BLM office as described. The documents also are available online at www.ca.blm.gov/cdd/lawsuit.html. War Paint Saturday, December 8, is an important Desert Advisory Council meeting concerning Glamis. They're trying to impose a curfew (tuck you in early) and a limit on how many of you Dune Goons (divide you up into the haves and have nots) can enjoy your favorite sand box. So, it's time to get off your ass and make something happen (DDT will not go into detail here. You know how I feel about Eco-Nazis). Fire up the old smoke-belching Chevy and caravan down to El Centro with the rest of the Dunatics and Freedom Fighters. Meeting Date: Location: Catch up with Davey next month when he reveals what it's really like as a Desert Tortoise, titled, "Dirt First! And then an assesphault, blaming urban sprawl and paving it with hypocrisy." Follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/OffRoadDotCom
