MASSILLON, Ohio - A.R.E. Inc., manufacturer of fiberglass pickup truck caps and tonneau covers, debuted its LSII series tonneau cover for the new Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon mini-pickup truck at this year's SEMA Show.

The LSII Series is the ultimate in custom-fitted hard tonneau covers for today's pickups. A.R.E. designs each model to match the curvature and style lines of the pickup it is made to fit. Compound curves add strength as well as style. Each unit is made to the customer's specifications for model, color and options. A.R.E. matches the vehicle paint code using a state-of-the-art factory painting system to achieve the closest possible paint match.

The tonneau also is constructed with an easy-mount, slide-on, black painted aluminum rail mounting system and OEM-style black powder coated clamps that are corrosion-resistant to 500 hours salt spray rating.

According to Todd Roberson, vice president, sales and marketing, A.R.E. Inc., the mounting system is easily adjustable. The weight of the LSII rests on the rubber height adjusters of the mounting rail system, not on the truck's paint.

"This prevents unnecessary paint wear on your truck's bed rails," he said. "Our mounting rail system allows a clamp-on installation with just a common 1/2-inch wrench. And, there is no need to drill holes in the bed rails, which could hurt the resale value of the truck."

The LSII Series tonneau also is designed with A.R.E.'s new interior dust and water barrier, as well as a factory-installed keyless entry system, he added.

A.R.E. also has upgraded to a modular mounting system for the LSII tonneau, so that all components of the lid, including the locking hardware and end caps, for example, are individually replaceable for easier repairs.

The LSII Series tonneau comes equipped with an exclusive Lift Assist System that makes it easy to open and close the tonneau with gas struts. A painted palm-grip handle blends easily with the LSII body for a sleek appearance. An easy twist of the wrist easily unlatches the tonneau and a key lock is standard.

Optional equipment includes a Nomadic(r) roof rack, sport wing, fabric headliner, interior light, remote keyless entry and hardware shroud.

Each cap or lid is custom built and painted to meet the customer's specifications. A.R.E. matches the vehicle paint code using a state-of-the-art factory painting system to achieve the closest possible paint match. The cap is also guaranteed to be structurally free from defects in material and workmanship including the painted finish for the life of the product on the original truck.
