Reader Rides Part 2

My truck is a 1985 double cab model with the 2.4 litre 2Lt turbo diesel motor.  The air is fed via a safari snorkel flowing into a finer filter air cleaner element. The wheels are 15x8 inch R.O.H alloys shod with 31x10.5 Kumho 832 Powerguards.  There is an OME nitrocharger shock in each corner and the rear has had a 2 inch lift (the truck sits nice and level with my Honda quad on the back) with the front to still be done at a later date.  The interior has been upgraded using parts from a donor 85 4runner, this is also where the side steps came from.  The alloy front bar is custom made locally. This is primarily my work (farm) truck, but it does alot of club work also, we have a very active club here in the Manawatu.  The photo was taken on a club run up in the Ruahine ranges. Andrew Nelson
My truck is a 1989 4runner that is basicly stock except the 31" tires on 8" rims and the sway bar disconnects manufactured as per your instuctions in your toyota section, by the way, they work great! www.perth.igs.net/~aweber
Hi my name is Jim Wilson and I live in Jacksonville,Florida. My truck is a 1988 Toyota 4x4 that I have converted to solid axle with crossover steering.I used a front spring hanger made from 3x3 steel and 1/4" plate.I used rear toyota springs in the front with jeep wrangler springs cut and added till I got it right. The trucj has had the fuel tank replaced with a 22gallon fuel cell relocated to the bed along with the battery. The motor is a 1983 22R witha Comp cam,40mm Weber,Tri-Y header and a flowmaster muffler. The truck sits on 35x16x15 SS Boggers on 12"wide 589 Eagles.I have a 1992 transmission /transfer case and a 1994 rear end.I am running 5.29 Precision gears with a Detroit locker in the rear and a Lincoln in the front. This truck is still being finished and has a few bugs to work out but it is going to be a blast to wheel in . www.muddmonkey.com
My 93 22RE is stock except for the 31x10.5 BFG's, 3" suspension lift. It's got approx. 97K absolutely trouble free miles on it (Everything original)!! When I get a chance, I take it with my wife and kids(5) offroading and fishing around Concord, Ca. where we live. It goes just about anywhere. Someday I'd like front & rear 4.88's and Softlockers.
Scott Drawz's  SR5 4Runner was purchased used with everything but a sunroof and leather. His modifications include Warn hubs, 35x12.5x15 BFG Muds, K&N air filter, 3-inch rear lift, torsion bars cranked, 3-inch body lift, TJM T-17 front bumper, all-pro offroad rear bumper, nerf bars, fog lights, CB radio, Rancho shocks and much more. He wheels mostly in and around Tucson, AZ. Check out his website at http://pw2.netcom.com/~lrl/home.htm
Jason's 1984 Toyota XtraCab SR5 resides in Bothell, WA.  3" Skyjacker springs, 2" Con-ferr shackles, and a 3" Trailmaster bodylift help clear 33-12.50/15 Super Swamper Bias Ply tires mounted on custom 15X8 black wagon wheels with 2" backspacing. All-pro shock hoops allow the use of Rancho RS9000 9012s up front.  RS9000s are also in the rear.  Both diffs sport 4.88 gears with a Lock-Rite in the rear end.  Under the hood, the 22R has a Weber Carb, Offy intake, Schneider cam, a NWOR header, and is cooled by an electric fan.  If you think, this truck is a little stubby, it's because 15" were taken out of the bed to allow for a greater departure angle and less of a chance of smacking the back end on any trail hazards.
Wolfgang's '92 Hilux is powered by the stock 2L-Diesel engine performing 79HP out of 2.4 litrtes. It has a solid axle/ leaf spring setup in the front and in the rear. In the front an additional leaf was added and the rear axle runs a Toyota LSD-diferential. Tires are 215/85 R 16 Fulda 4x4 Tramp on stock rims. Air-intake has been moved into the left fender for water-crossings and a self-constructed bullbar fitted. Wolfgang is from Austria and uses his truck for wheeling in the mountains.
Ty Tordoff aka"TOYRANTULA" and his  93 Toyota . Stock motor, 33x12.5 Big O M/t`s, 15 x10 Bart white spokes,BIG stereo, GTO hood Guard, 100 watt KC driving lights, Sylvania HI output headlites, 3" Superior body lift, 3" blocks, 2" torsion twist, 2.5" exhaust , tinted windows-limo black.
Tyler's 1984 Xtra cab Toy Pickup has a 4" Rancho suspension lift, riding on  BFG 33" Mud terrains that sit on American Racing rims.  He takes his Toy anywhere that looks safe to climb and fun to sit on top of.  This was shot in  his hometown of Woodland  California, But he now resides in Chico California where he plans to drop in a nice and powerful Chevy 4.3 liter V6.
My name is Brett Harding and I'm from Perth Western Australia and this is my ride, a 1980 Toyota Hilux (pickup) short wheel base. It's powered by a 6cyl Holden 202ci with an '84 gearbox and stock transfer case. It has a Dick Cepek 3" body lift with re-arched heavy duty leaf springs (about an extra 3") that make room for 35"x12.5 BFG All Terrain's. It has a Dick Cepek dual shock setup on the front with Old Man Emu shocks on the rear. It runs on dual fuel (L.P.G & petrol - in Australia L.P.G is about a third of the price of petrol making it cheap to run). This photo is from a place called Mandurah about an hour's south of Perth. Future mod's (hopefully) will include a Chevy 350ci, auto and 38.5" Swampers.
