Price and Compare Vehicles: Price: $329 plus another $60(!) in shipping. PROS: It looks sharp (I bought a white one), and weighs less than the hard top. It goes on and off much easier than the hard top. It is waterproof, which is nice when you live in the Seattle area as I do. It is also quieter than I expected it to be; it's really not much noisier than the hardtop. Visibility is quite a bit better than it is with the hard top. CONS: Initial installation is a bear; you have to drill about 100 holes in the top edge of your bed, and remove the rubber weatherstripping from against the cab. Plan on 4 or 5 hours for the install. You CAN put the hardtop back on, but to do this, you have to remove almost all the soft-top hardware. I plan on putting the soft-top on each spring, and remove it in the fall. Of course, being a soft-top, it's much easier for someone to break into your rig. BOTTOM LINE: All in all, I'm not really certain I would do it all over again. I'd suggest replacing all the sheet metal screws supplied by Kayline with stainless steel screws, so they don't rust. Also invest in a snap-repair kit -- the snaps come off frequently, but are easily repaired. BACK to the main Product Reviews Page
