EL CAJON, CA (Dec. 11, 2007) – Toyota continued its legendary off road racing heritage with the Toyota Tundra of Gustavo “Tavo” Vildosola (Vildosola Racing) winning the 2007 Protruck Series Championship and in the process, Toyota secured the prestigious Protruck Manufacturers Award.

Created by Off-Road Icon, Ivan “Ironman” Stewart, the Baja Protruck Off-Road Race Series pits spec trucks from various manufacturers against each other at some of the most grueling off-road races in the world. Those races include the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the Baja 500 and Baja 1000.

Stewart earned his “Ironman” reputation with repeated wins as a solo driver in off-road competition. “Over the years I learned that it takes well built and reliable vehicles to endure the punishment off road racing delivers. We build Protrucks to endure almost anything racing can throw at them. Dependable Toyota trucks have carried me to many race wins and I couldn’t be happier to present Toyota with this years Manufacturer’s Championship Trophy.”
