To provide additional strength and reinforcement for the trails, Goodyear offers its Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar - yep, that same material used in bulletproof vests! This mud-terrain tire is hailed by Goodyear as its “best tire” for off-road travel, due in part to the Dupont Kevlar that’s used to reinforce the sidewalls of the MT/R that provide 35 percent more sidewall puncture resistance compared to Goodyear’s previous mud tire. For additional durability and traction, Goodyear uses an aggressive wraparound tread design. The rubber compound used in the tire’s construction features silica rubber, which Goodyear says helps provide improved off-road and wet traction. The starting price of the MT/R with Kevlar is $209.
