Spit-n-urai

spitnurai3.jpg (35074 bytes)I have owned this car twice. Once as a project (combining two cars into one) for restoration--a nice stock job. Then, four years later, I bought it back as a basket case. It was "stored" (read, "rusting away") in a friend's field. After I moved to northern Michigan from the greater Detroit area, some friends, as a joke, brought the spitfire to me for--as they put it-- a "lawn ornament." We unloaded it amidst the pines with much hoopla and merriment. New tires for my bronco left the old tires in the pines beside the Spitfire, then a friend (who was under the influence a bit at the time) said, "Man that thing would be sweet if it was four wheel drive..."

spitnurai2.jpg (22538 bytes)That's how it got started. I drive this thing everywhere. It's a conversation starter. The car is going to be featured in Spitfire/GT6 magazine soon. My friends call the car the "Spit- n-urai."
