SuperLite Championship Series Crowned Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg Season Champion and ROTY
At the awards ceremony on Monday December 13, 2010, Jeremy Twitch Stenberg was crowned the SuperLite Season Champion and Rookie of the Year. “Jeremy Twitch Stenberg came into off road racing on the heels of Brian Deegan. He was a rider who started in the XGames in 1999 and now he is here today in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series,” said Cameron Steele, host of the ceremony. Chad George took second for the season with 3 wins, four-second place and one-third place finish. Colton CJ Greaves took third place with 2 wins, two-second place finishes and two third-place finishes.
Saturdays final SuperLite race was no disappointment for edge-of-your-seat entertainment. With the championship up for grabs, and five drivers able to capture the championship depending on their finish, there was more strategy than ever before. Jeremy Twitch Stenberg, Chad George, Colton Greaves, Jacob Pearson and Dawson Kirchner were the trucks to watch. “Turn one has been tough on everyone today. No one can afford to make one mistake,” said Jeff “SurfRat” Arganda during the Live Coverage of the race on SuperLite Live TV. Jeff OX Kargola took the initial lead, but after being bumped, Kyle LeDuc took the lead and eventually the finish. Dawson Kirchner had a good start, bicycled in the middle of the race, and finished in second place, his third podium win this season. Chad George maintained 3rd position for the race, and Jeremy Twitch Stenberg stayed in a comfortable fourth place banking on the points to clinch the season championship.
The 2010 Rockstar Energy Lucas Oil Challenge Cup race on Sunday was intense as 15 drivers battled for the $20,000 purse. RJ Anderson got the hole shot but the lead continued to change as drivers tangled trying to get to the front. RJ Anderson, Dawson Krichner and Kyle LeDuc all had the big purse in their pocket at one point, and unfortunately Brandon Ward, RJ Anderson, Dawson Kirchner and Ricky James all ended up having to pull off the track before the checker flag. After the mandatory caution, Kyle LeDuc grabbed the lead and he kept Chad George behind him for the win and the $10,000 first place purse. Chad George took second; Colton Greaves also took the podium and 3rd place cash purse.
The SuperLite Arrive and Drive program, which was recently featured in Maxim Magazine as a great gift for guys, has allowed the opportunity for a lot of people to race as part of a high caliber organization. “There is no racing in January, so this is the perfect time to put a Real Truck under the Christmas tree this year and prepare to race the 2011 season,” said Chuck Dempsey.
