Camp Fires and Roasting Forks - Don't get Burned!Campfire Roasting Forks

One of my favorite parts of being in the great outdoors is camping.  I love camping.  It's a way to get away from everything--away from the busy life of the city, away from work, and away from troubles.

Most of our camping trips revolve around off-roading.  Our base camp is a place we all come to at the end of the day to talk about our adventures and share stories of yesteryears.  There is one key element, however, that makes everything come together--the campfire.

My favorite part of camping is building the campfire.  I love piling up the wood and bringing to life one of nature's elements.  It brings out the camaraderie in many of us--and makes us feel more relaxed at the end of the day.  It's not uncommon to hear conversations and laughter around the campfire.  Maybe that's why I spend so much time hanging out by it.

One of the things we do while we sit around the fire is roast hot dogs and make s'mores.  We have a good time with the kids, our friends, or whoever happens to be camping with us that night.  I enjoy doing this so much that I somehow end up being the designated "PYRO".  I love playing with fire, but I really don't like to get burned.  Up until lately, getting burned or having to back-off from the fire was inevitable.  Those short handled camp forks and wire hangers just didn't seem to work.  Someone would always end up dropping their wiener in the fire or burning their hand because the heat was too close.

I got tired of that, so I set out to find something that would solve this problem.  I came across a great CampFork that is made by OZARK TRAIL Outdoor Equipment.  It's sturdy, long, and easy to handle.  Most importantly, you don't get burned or end up loosing your food to the fire.

Here are some of the key features of the OZARK TRAIL CampFork :

  • Extra long 41in/104cm length
  • Heavy duty chrome plated steel
  • Stay-cool wooden handle

This light and nimble CampFork makes it fun and easy to enjoy our favorite campfire pastime--roasting.  So friends, if you have ever burned your marshmallows or dropped your dog in the fire, do yourself a favor and get one of these forks.  It's a great investment at under $5. Trust me, you'll love it.

You can find them at Wal-Mart or any major sporting good store that carries camping supplies.
