Warn Industries showcased a number of new products at SEMA, with one of the most exciting being its new Endurance 12.0, which is air-cooled to help offer the longest duty cycle of any electric winch on the market.
Warn's Endurance 12.0
The Endurance 12.0 features 12,000 pounds of pulling capacity for trucks, jeeps and SUVs, and Warn says it also provides the fastest line speed in its class. The specially designed cooling fan (which is remotely mounted under the vehicle’s hood) automatically turns on when the winch’s motor reaches a certain temperature (or it can be manually turned on). As Warns’ Andy Lilienthal showed us, two hoses are connected to the side of the housing, with one flowing in cool air from the fan and the other discharging the warm air from the motor. The Endurance 12.0 also features a contractor for increased durability and reliability, as well as a high-speed, three-stage planetary geartrain, which Warn says provides fast, smooth and dependable operation. Much of the hardware, including the clutch lever, is stainless steel for added protection, and the winch is also designed with seals to help keep water out. Other features of the Endurance 12.0 includes 80 feet of 3/8-inch diameter rope; a mechanical brake; a remote with 12-foot lead and fan-activation switch; and a separate control box for a wide array of mounting options. The Warn winch is also backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
The Warn 60th Anniversary Wench
Warn is also celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2008. To commemorate this milestone, Warn is taking orders for its limited edition 60th Anniversary Winch. There are only 250 of these limited edition winches based on the M8724 electric winch available, and each is individually numbered. The first unit is actually in the SEMA Silent Auction, with the proceeds going to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. For more information on Warn and its product line, visit www.warn.com.
