Dick Simons' '96 Polaris XCR 600

Nov. 01, 2005 By ORC STAFF
XCR 600  Dick Simons, (known as Danger to his riding buddies), from Canisteo, New York, sent us some photos of his Polaris XCR 600. When these pictures were taken, the machine was modified with 120 stainless carbide studs, plastic skis with 6" carbides, a Comet rear shock, and '99 XC handlebars with a 1" riser block and a brake-side hook. With these additions, Dick says this machine carves the corners like an Indy car.

Dick isn't done with the mods yet. Now that the season is over, he is in the process of installing a Rotax 583 motor and pipe connected to a Dynoport silencer. '96 Polaris Once that not-so-simple task is complete and before the snow flies, he'll add a custom Cobra windshield too.

Dick and his XCR can be seen, (although probably not caught), on the trails in western and central New York.
