The platform that changed the meaning of high-performance returns in its second year with more engine options, special package options and the promise of whimpers from those who try and catch them.

The Firecat series now features a 600cc version of the incomparable laydown engine, producing 118 hp in both batteryless EFI (BEFI) and dual flatslide carb form. It joins the 140-hp 700 twin (now available with either BEFI or dual flatslide carbs) and 105-hp carbureted 500 twin. Last season the F7 and F5 decimated the competition in all forms of organized and impromptu drag races, as did the mid-year release F6, taking advantage of their incredible power and feathery weight.

Credit the stunning box-aluminum chassis and a 26-percent reduction in parts from previous models for the Firecats' lightweight leader status. Signature, multi-function engineering like the 12.6-gallon fuel tank that also serves as the steering support, footholds and mounting surface for the oil and coolant reservoirs cuts weight and centralizes mass. Likewise, the narrow 13.5- x 128-inch track shaves precious pounds (combined with a narrower chassis, suspension and seat) and boosts the comfort meter thanks to a narrow foot stance for the rider.

When the trail turns rough or you're running ditch lines, this is the suspension/chassis combo that leaves everything else behind. The lightweight AWS VI front suspension with ACT gas shocks is matched by the FasTrack Long Travel rear (featuring ACT gas shocks and mechanical coupling) for outstanding handling. Curved, adjustable handlebars, digital/analog speedometer/tachometer, special running board foot traction (new this year) and hydraulic disc brake create the perfect cockpit for performance pilots.

Riders who want a Firecat capable of taming trails and deep powder will appreciate the all-new EXT package on the F6 EFI EXT and F7 EFI EXT. It sports a 13.5- x 144- x 1.25-inch track that does double-duty on both trails and mountains.

Batteryless Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI models)
For easy starts guaranteed on the second pull plus breathtaking performance, smooth idling no matter how high or low the temperature and altitude, plus an ultra-light throttle pull to reduce thumb fatigue.

Narrow Tunnel
Reduces weight while improving ergonomics and responsiveness.

Digital / Analog Speedometer
The integrated tach and speedometer reads digital and analog. Push a button to change from digital to analog.

Integrated Heat Exchanger and Running Boards
Save weight, add rigidity, and free the running boards of ice.
