On August 15, 2005, the USDA Forest Service (FS), Ochoco National Forest, published a Notice of
Intent (NOI) in the Federal Register (70 FR 47785?47787) to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS)
for the East Maurys Fuels and Vegetation Management Project. The FS revises that NOI as follows: Except for
the sections noted, all prior information remains the same.
The original NOI states the draft EIS is expected to be available for public comment in May 2006 and final EIS is
expected in November 2006. This revised NOI modifies the date the draft EIS is expected to be available to
December 2007. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will publish a Notice of Availability (NOA) of the draft

Environmental Impact Statement on Recreational Use of Off-Road Vehicles Along Nine Trails in the Nabesna Area of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve
The National Park Service (NPS) is preparing an EIS on the
recreational use of off-road vehicles (ORV) along nine trails in the
Nabesna area of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. The
purpose of the EIS is to evaluate a range of alternatives for managing
recreational off-road vehicle use on the following trails: Caribou
Creek, Lost Creek, Trail Creek, Reeve Field, Boomerang Lake, Soda Lake,
Suslota Lake, Copper Lake and Tanada Lake. The EIS will be used to
guide the management of recreational ORV use on these trails in the
Nabesna area of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve.
Comments concerning the scope of this EIS should be received 60
days after the last scoping meeting referenced above. Go here for

Notice of Availability of the Rawlins Proposed Resource
Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement, Wyoming
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act of
1969 (NEPA) and the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976
(FLPMA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and its cooperating
agencies, have prepared a Proposed Resources Management Plan and Final
Environmental Impact Statement (PRMP/EIS) for the Rawlins Field Office
for public review. The BLM Planning regulations set forth the provisions applicable
to protests (43 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1610.5-2). A person
who meets the conditions as described in the regulations cited above,
and who wishes to file a protest, must file said protest within 30 days
of the date this notice is published in the Federal Register.

Roadless Area Conservation; Applicability to the National Forests in Idaho
The Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), is
proposing to establish a State-specific rule to provide management
direction for conserving and enhancing the roadless characteristics for
designated roadless areas in Idaho. The agency is particularly
interested in receiving public input regarding the following topics: to
what extent should the Forest Service allow building roads for the
purpose of conducting limited forest health activities in areas
designated as backcountry; are the limitations on sale
of common variety minerals and discretionary mineral leasing
appropriate; and will the proposed mechanism for administrative
corrections and modifications be sufficient to accommodate future
adjustments necessary due to changed circumstances or public need?
Comments must be received in writing by April 7, 2008.

Notice of Intent To Revise a Resource Management Plan and the
Associated Environmental Impact Statement for the Baker Resource Area
of the Vale District
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Field Office, Baker City,
Oregon intends to revise a Resource Management Plan (RMP) with an
associated Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Baker Resource
Area of the Vale District and by this notice is announcing public
scoping meetings. The RMP will revise the existing Baker Resource
Management Plan of 1989. The BLM will announce public scoping meetings to identify
relevant issues through local news media, newsletters, and the BLM Web
site http://www.blm.gov/or/districts/vale/index.php at least 15 days
prior to the first meeting. We will provide formal opportunities for
public participation upon publication of the Draft RMP/EIS.
