THE LIGHTS ARE STILL ON!!!!

But many wish they wern?t?.

There?s a big stink a?brewin all over the country, and the stench trails all the way back to Washington DC. The latest unconstitutional multi-million acre land grab perpetuated on a sleeping populace is taking on all the characteristics of the proverbial ?Straw that broke the camel?s back.?

Sure took long enough.

Our little green friends are in the deepest, darkest doo-doo, and they know it. Their Luddite fantasies of a Y2K bred capitalistic collapse failed to materialize, Their  doom and gloom prophets are being slowly picked apart by a growing number of internet based news outlets, unafraid to rediscover the simple concept of a crazy little thing called integrity in reporting, - Their loudly lauded ?facts? trumpeted by over ?2000 scientists? on the (snicker) ?imminent threat of global warming?, have since been refuted by over 20,000 (TWENTY THOUSAND!) scientists in letters to various government and United Nation agencies.

And that?s only a small part of what?s going on around America, and the world.

One that particularly amuses me (to put it mildly), is the recent ranking of ?The Population Bomb?, by global cooling to overpopulation to global warming scaremonger ?Dr. Paul Elrich?, as one of the 100 worst books of the 20th century.

For those who don?t know, Paulie sang the horror of ?global cooling? until it became unpopular and proven false, did his best to strike fear into the hearts of the planet over the hell of overpopulation (starvation, disease, economic collapse ad nauseam) in the 70?s , and made the switch to global warming guru when 1980 dawned on a country fat and happy.

Does anyone notice a pattern here or is it just Me?

Even better are the polls. You know, those wonderful little bits of rigged wisdom that speak the will of ?The American People?? Lately there have been flurries of polls conducted by many news sources and ?environmental groups? on the web, asking a variety of questions. The one basic premise throughout centers around ?Should we ban motorized / mechanical recreation from our public lands??

It?s an interesting thing about polls, and how easily their data can be manipulated. Many of our readers around the world have sent us the polls URLs and we post them to our pages at Off-Road.com. Our readers then respond.

By the time we post the poll?s URL, the greeines have cast their votes and we?re losing the battle. Within a day or two, off-roaders and freedom enthusiasts have turned the poll around by a WIDE MARGIN.  One poll had off-roaders voting for their constitutionally protected rights by OVER 90%!

Now tell me again how you can?t make a difference.

Oh yea Bucky, we?re making a difference. We?re getting more organized by the day, and that?s one tree that?s not going to have a non-bathing Earth-Firster squatting in it.

Besides the ORV enthusiasts, watercrafters, Rv?ers veterans, and handicapped citizens having thrown the gauntlet, local / regional agencies are coming to the realization that ?Big Brother? can go straight to hell. The Elko Nevada road closure is still a front burner issue in northern Nevada, causing one high level Dept of the Interior employee to whine like a schoolgirl and quit ? hurling accusations of ?lack of respect for authority? by the little people. IE ? U.S. citizens.

Good riddance Miss Thang. Talk to the hand. (The one with the extended middle finger).

And speaking of polls, our friends the Democrats are paddling away furiously over the falls. The hallowed polls they live by have turned against them to  the point that they just can?t spin?m as easily as they used to. And they?ve resorted to claims so drastic, so exaggerated, so blatantly foolish, that they?ve locked themselves into a nitro fueled cycle of self debasement.

Seen AlGore?s numbers lately? Bill Bradley?s? Hillary?s?

They are running to the left so hard and so far, they?ve almost arrived at the right of Rush Limbaugh!

They Faught The Law, And The Law Won

Bighorn County Wyoming Sheriff Dave Mattis was far beyond frustrated in his dealings with the federal government?s abuse of power, and in the process has shown the way for reigning them, and by extension, their green lap dogs, in.

WYOMING SHERIFFS PUT FEDERAL OFFICERS ON CHOKE CHAINS

County sheriffs in Wyoming are insisting that all federal law enforcement officers and personnel from federal regulatory agencies must clear all their activities in a Wyoming county with the Sheriff's Office. Speaking at a press conference following the recent US District Court decision (case No 2:96-cv-099-J) Bighorn County Sheriff Dave Mattis stated that all federal officials are forbidden to enter his county without his prior approval.

"If a sheriff doesn't want the Feds in his county he has the constitutional power and right to keep them out or ask them to leave or retain them in custody." The court decision came about after Mattis & other members of the Wyoming Sheriffs' Association brought a suit against both the BATF and the IRS in the Wyoming federal court district seeking restoration of the protections enshrined in the United States Constitution and the Wyoming Constitution. The District Court ruled in favor of the sheriffs, stating that, "Wyoming is a sovereign state and the duly elected sheriff of a county is the highest law enforcement official within a county and has law enforcement powers exceeding that of any other state or federal official."

The Wyoming sheriffs are demanding access to all BATF files to verify that the agency is not violating provisions of Wyoming law that prohibit the registration of firearms or the keeping of a registry of firearm owners. The sheriffs are also demanding that federal agencies immediately cease the seizure of private property and the impoundment of private bank accounts without regard to due process in state courts.

Sheriff Mattis stated:
"I am reacting to the actions of federal employees who have attempted to deprive citizens of my county of their privacy, their liberty, and their property without regard to constitutional safeguards. I hope that more sheriffs all across America will join us in protecting their citizens from the illegal activities of the IRS, EPA, BATF, FBI, or any other federal agency that is operating outside the confines of constitutional law. Employees of the IRS and the EPA are no longer welcome in Bighorn County unless they intend to operate in conformance to constitutional law."

This case is evidence that the Tenth Amendment is not yet dead in the United States. It may also be interpreted to mean that political subdivisions of a State are included within the meaning of the amendment, or that the powers exercised by a sheriff are an extension of those common law powers which the Tenth Amendment explicitly reserves to the People, if they are not granted to the federal government and specifically prohibited to the States.
