It's So Easy Being RED!
August 99 Welcome to Amerika Comrade! There's a bigger picture to the whole
"environmental" movement, one that often slips under the radar of
the average American. While I've touched on it in some of my
previous columns here at Off-Road.com, I'd like to dedicate this
month's "Being Green" column to presenting you with some cold, hard
facts about the political agenda of today's "Environmentalist". Or
perhaps I should say the "Environmental agenda of today's
politician".
Before I start, let me set the
stage ..... In my "other job" as a Data
Tech, I recently had the opportunity to work with a very talented
individual from across the western side of the pond. This man was
no stranger to the perils of socialist / communist philosophy in
both theory and practice, due to his far east upbringing.
Side note - For some time now, I've been
expanding my research into the Eco-mindset beyond the typical
"Earth First / Dave Foreman" concept of monkeywrenching, and the
"feel good check writing" mentality of the armchair Eco-warrior
wannabe. My quest has taken me directly to the writings of Karl
Marx - father of Communism, and author of "The Communist Manifesto"
the "Bible" of the Communist / Socialist movement.
One day I brought that very book to work with me
for some anything but light reading on my lunch hour. Several of my
co-workers have since taken to calling me "Comrade". Regardless, of
my new name, I kept the thing around for the occasional reference
quote when some of my liberal co-workers started spouting
Clintonian Doctrine. (It's amazing how similar the two can be....).
I guess it was inevitable that a fellow co-worker (a staunch
conservative) would ask to borrow it, and so the story
begins. My friend "Pete" had the Red Book
left out on his desk one day when our far eastern friend chanced
by. He was immediately taken back. "Is it
yours" he asked? "Do you know how many people have died because of
that book?" Without question the man is
right. "The Communist Manifesto" has been the root philosophy
behind some of the most oppressive governments in recent history.
Communist China, Russia and the Soviet Union under Lenin, Stalin,
and Kruschev, Cuba under Castro, North Korea, Viet Nam......does
any of this sound familiar? It should, as these governments have
all at one time or another declared war on their own people, to say
nothing of their acts of war against other countries.
So how does this apply to you? How does this apply
to "Environmentalists" trampling the rights of landowners,
business, and outdoor recreationalists? To quote Nikita
Kruschev, "We will take America
without firing a shot.......We will BURY YOU!"
And how will Communism and it's more politically
correct counterpart "Socialism" do it? Spelled out clearly in the
Communist Manifesto itself is the roadmap.
The 10 Planks of the Communist
Manifesto
| 1 | Abolition of
property in land and application of all rents of land to public
purpose | | 2 | A heavy
progressive or graduated income tax. | | 3 | Abolition of
all right of inheritance | | 4 | Confiscation
of the property of all emigrants and rebels. | | 5 | Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by
means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive
monopoly. | | 6 | Centralization of the means of communication and
transport in the hands of the State. | | 7 | Extension of
factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the
bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of
the soil generally in accordance with a common
plan. | | 8 | Equal
Liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies,
especially for agriculture. | | 9 | Combination
of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of
the distinction between town and country by a more equable
distributpopulation over the country. | | 10 | Free
education for all children in public schools. Abolition of
children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of
education with industrial production. |
Confiscation of property? (the BLM / USFS)
Abolition of property? (The Wildlands Project) Heavy income tax? (the IRS) A government owned press and
transportation system (How about CNN and Al Gore's wish to
eliminate the internal combustion engine)? An equally distributed
population (The Wildlands
Project)? An exclusive
monopoly on credit (the elimination of Capitalism)?
Today we sit here waiting for someone, anyone, to
stop the BLM, USFS, IRS, in short, the Clinton administration and
it's Non Governmental Organizations (like the Sierra Club) from
abolishing what little is left of the United States Constitution
and the Bill of Rights. But there are more enemies to the documents
our once great country was founded on, and as we too late
discovered with the election of Bill Clinton, the enemy is
within.
Democratic Socialists of
America Lest you think that this is some bad joke, I've
referenced the website via links so as you too may read the awful
truth for yourselves. Listed below are some of the environmental
related ideas of the DSA. It doesn't take a linguist to determine
what these ideas, once implemented, will do to our rights as
Americans. From the DSA webpagehttp://www.dsausa.org/rl/ESR/Caucus89.htmlRadical Democracy and the Centrality of Power"The DSA Green Caucus rejects the idea
that the green movement is "neither left nor right, but ahead." We
see ourselves as firmly of the "left," since we are explicitly
anti-capitalist and working for a radical democratic transformation
of society that empowers people to take control of their lives in
all spheres. We
do not mean "Marxist" when we say "left "however. We see the
Marxist tradition as but one of a number of important traditions
contributing to the left green perspective. Other contributory
streams include pre-, non- and post-Marxist socialisms, liberalism,
anarchism, feminism, and much other contemporary critical thought.
The central theme which ties these thinkers together as thinkers of
the "left," and which we place as the starting point of our own
analysis, is the overturning of domination in all forms, and
maximal democratic empowerment."Socialist Internationalism"The left green perspective is also
internationalist. International solidarity of working people, trade
unions and socialist parties is ever more necessary to control an
increasingly global capitalism. But left greens believe that the
old nation-state boundaries must be also be transcended to build
the global democratic institutions necessary to stop ecological
destruction, to encourage sustainable development, and to guarantee
international security, disarmament, and human rights. As citizens
of the United States, we also must take responsibility for
re-orienting our foreign policy from narrow "national interests" to
global interests."Ecology, Industrialism, and Consumerism"To turn back the ecological crisis,
we radical democrats believe society must be weaned away from
industrialism and consumerism, toward an economic and technological
system that does not see economic growth as the measure of the
social well-being. This transition to a sustainable economy is
required by our democratic socialist goals of global equality, and
requires democratic socialist means to achieve. If we are ever to
achieve equality with the Third World, we both must begin to use
energy and resource-efficient technologies, so that our global use
of resources is drastically reduced. And to turn our short-term
profit-oriented economy toward ecological sustainability will
require a significant expansion of democratic planning and
ownership. Policies such as investments in public works and
the shortening of the work-week represent ways of achieving full
employment and a higher standard of living, without stimulating
ecologically destructive and socially useless forms of economic
growth. Ecological sustainability requires that the public choose
the path of voluntary simplicity, which can only be "voluntary"
when they democratically control society's
resources"Members of the Progressive Caucus| Representative (State-District) | Address | Phone, Fax | Email |

Have yourself a good long read on the Democratic
Socialists of America pages. I know it's not as "exciting" as
watching paint dry, but it's information that you better get used
to knowing, even living by if we as Americans continue to shirk our
duty. In short -Vote These Communists the
HELL OUT Of Their Positions In
Our Government! Their agenda could
not possibly be any clearer, and thus far history has indeed proven
Kruschev right. America has lost many of the rights and freedoms
given to us by our founding fathers, and as a result has marched
ever onward into the gaping maw of a Communist state. It didn't
take millions of armed Red China troops, and it hasn't taken the
nuclear arsenal of the Soviet Union to cower us into abandoning our
rights, our beliefs, and our very way of life. All it took was a
message to give it all up - for the children. Call it "Red Baiting", Call it what ever you will. The facts
speak for themselves. "It's Not Easy Being Green" - Article
