You MUST Believe! YOU are the
Problem!!! There are seemingly no
end to the ways that "Green" Socialists come up with to vilify
outdoor recreationalists, businesses, even whole industries. We
read it in the papers,, and on the web. We watch it on TV. We
listen to it in our cars on the way to and from work. Our children
get it from cartoons like "Captain Planet" and school texts that
portray humans as destroyers of the earth. If there's a problem in
the world, "human induced" is the default condition - regardless of
any pesky little things - like "facts" for example. They just get
in the way of a good guilting of America after all. Now don't go trying to deny it, It's YOUR
fault. Or so our environmentally aware friends would have us
believe. Ponder this never-reported truth - For a so called "expert" on environmental matters to
come on television and tell us what bad people we are, he / she is
contacted by the TV station / network... (Using a phone system powered by
electricity that comes from coal, hydro electric, gas, or nuclear
powerplants, and has destroyed the biodiversity of hundreds of
thousands of acres of pristine land and waterways in the laying of
phone line, poles, and cable. - But if YOU do that, you are
evil) He / she then drives, or takes a taxi to an
airport....... (In a vehicle made of mined metals,
chemically created plastics / fabrics / paints, and composites,
rubber that will last indefinitely in landfills, and that burns
fossil fuel - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet) Over highways built ..... (Using mined metals, quarried rock,
chemically treated asphalt, and built by fossil fuel powered heavy
equipment - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet Where he / she will sit in a heated / air conditioned
terminal..... (built of mined metals, quarried rock,
chemically created plastics / fabrics / paints, and powered by
electricity that comes from coal, hydro electric, gas, or nuclear
powerplants - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet) He / She will then board an airplane built of
..... (Mined metals, chemically created plastics / fabrics
/ paints, and composites, rubber that will last indefinitely in
landfills, and burns fossil fuel - - But if YOU do that, you are
destroying the planet) ...and fly hundreds or thousands of miles to a
similar airport .... (built of mined metals, quarried rock,
chemically created plastics / fabrics / paints, and powered by
electricity that comes from coal, hydro electric, gas, or nuclear
powerplants - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet) He / she is then likely picked up by a limo from the
TV studio which is very poor on fuel mileage, high on maintenance,
.... (Made of mined metals, chemically created
plastics / fabrics (or the skins of dead animals) / paints, and
composites, rubber that will last indefinitely in landfills, and
burns fossil fuel - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet) To ride to the TV studio over highways . (built by using mined metals, quarried
rock, chemically treated asphalt, and fossil fuel powered heavy
equipment - But if YOU do that, you are destroying the
planet) Where he / she will spew forth his / her words of
wisdom ..... (from a building built of mined metals,
quarried rock, chemically created plastics / fabrics / paints, and
powered by electricity that comes from coal, hydro electric, gas,
or nuclear powerplants - But if YOU do that, you are an
anti-environmentalist hatemonger) ....telling you that it's
YOUR fault that the planet is in such a
sorry state, and that we're all going to die, and that squirrels
are mating strangely, and chickens are laying square eggs, and that
the spotted mole is in danger of going extinct if little Billy uses
one more battery for his electric "Snoopy" toothbrush. It sure is a
lot of trouble, expense, "destruction of wildlife, habitat, and
natural resource" just to get the latest ecological Nostrodomous
wannabee to the TV camera on time, but such usage of the planet is
acceptable to advance the cause of the the green movement. After
all, they do it every time some media darling wants to expose man's
inhumanity against Gaia. And after all,
THEY do it to
SAVE the planet. YOU and
I on the other hand, are enviro-menaces
of the first order, just lying in wait for the chance to despoil
the fragile ecosphere....and shamefully get our rocks off doing
it. What? You don't believe me? Have you been living in an environmentally correct
cave? An entire industry has been built around informing the
environmentally victimized population of the evils that you and I
have done. The Sierra Club publishes a full color print magazine
which regularly condemns the logging industry, the chemical
industry, and the (add your favorite here) industry. (yet the magazine, calendars, flyers,
pamphlets, and other vehicles of propaganda are printed in full
chemically created color on - you guessed it - Paper. When a
magazine or other literature is published that runs contrary to the
eco-gospel, the Sierra Club screams about how we're running out of
forrest.) Groups like the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance
decry the use of SUV's and especially, their use on public
lands. (Yet the SUWA holds gatherings on public
lands, miles away from civilization, accessible only by the dirt
roads they claim don't exist, and get there in - you guessed it -
SUV's. Where can we learn to off-road "acceptably" like the SUWA
who apparently do no damage to the environment? I'll sign up right
now.) Groups like PETA go after the heartstrings of
Americas youth in attempt to force society into a state of
vegetarianism. "Meat is Murder" goes the cry. "Ronald McDonald is a
scary, scary clown" say protesters outside the Golden Arches as
they try to warp the minds of our children. "It is immoral to "Own"
a pet, and it violates the animals rights" (Tell that to a little girl with a new
kitten to love. Later, when she sits down to a steak dinner,
explain why she was born a carnivore, and equipped with canine
teeth as part of the original equipment package - yet should ignore
this fact and subsist on vegetables. Hell, don't take my word for
it Ms. Newkirk, ask any dentist. In the mind of the animal rights nut,
there is no difference between eating a cow, and eating a kitten.
This fact should clue you in to the brainwashed cult mentality of
the animal rights groups all by it self)
But hey, what do I know? I'm just some wrong thinking
brainless anti-environmental off-roader that despoils, nature,
votes Republican, violates the rights of the cat who lives in my
house (possibly against it's will, but since I don't speak "cat",
I'll likely never really be sure), contributed to overpopulation
(through an environmentally inconsiderate act resulting in my
daughter), and support evil corporations through the evils of
capitalism. And it's all my fault. How do I know that? Why, I
believe what the socialists, er - environmentalists tell me of
course. They know what's best. You must excuse me now. I'm overcome with guilt and
