There is an important "grassroots"network which is being formed under the cooperative efforts of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), car clubs and other interested parties. As explained below,

The new network program - called the SEMA Action Network - is being formed to oppose detrimental state legislative and regulatory proposals and to support the advantageous ones. SEMA strongly encourages you and your club to become active in the Network.

The goal of the SEMA Action Network is to organize and mobilize industry and hobby representatives to respond to state issues as a unified front. With increasingly more legislative and regulatory activity threatening the automotive hobby at the state level, the need for a structured automotive grassroots response network is evident. This partnership between industry and enthusiasts will hopefully result in a virtual wave of responses when state issues arise.

Networks will be established in each state and will focus mainly on issues arising in that particular state. Occasionally, state Networks may be called to act upon an issue in another state or at the federal level when needed. For each state Network, a handful of people will hold the position of `State L
