Frank,

I ordered the trailer hitch for $495 installed by the dealer. If I buy
separate and install myself how much will I save? I have installed hitches
to other vehicles before... not a big deal. Even welded one on once to a 69
Dodge. The salesman at the dealership made it sound like this installation
was big deal, and talked me out of it. Your saying that it actually is
quite simple?

Thanks,
Roger

Subject: trailer hitch

anyone interested in installing their own MB trailer hitch,

this is the second easiest MB accessory that i have installed. i have
the instructions in my home if anyone needs/wants more detailed info.

notes:

i was impressed with the unit, it appears to be well made and heavy
duty.

it too me just over an hour to install (first one).

the bolts actualy fit!!!

a lift is not nessessary (but helpfull)

in addition to the hitch, you will need a 25A spade fuse (clear) this
goes in posistion F18 in the fuse box

two people are required to remove the rear bumper skin to prevent damage

tools:

16mm wrench

17mm socket

ratchet for above

21mm socket

ratchet for above

torque wrench for above

10mm socket

wire cutters

again, let me know if you want any more info,

frank

ps i am going to save the most recent copy of installation instructions
for ever accessory i put on.
