go to Europe! In the few countries I've visited, basic gasoline ranges from $4.00 to over $5.00 per US gallon equivalent. When you zip down an autobahn or autostrada at your rental car's top speeds (~115 to ~135 MPH for the small cars I can afford), and get only ~15 MPG, you *really* pay for your driving! Back in the states, the difference between $1.10 and $1.30 a gallon hardly seems significant.
