Also, it is really noticeable only when I'm outside. Seems like (but I have very poor directional hearing!) it is coming from the passenger side under the hood. From inside the car, I do not hear the noise. btw I don't think any holes were opened, it was a simple install with head unit change and CD changer going in under it. It could be that the new units are drawing more power and thus the cooling fans have to come on with just the radio on. I'll try to investigate some more, but when the car is cool in the morning, I'm always rushing to get out of the house! I was hoping to find out here if anyone else has noticed this 1) after they installed a new head unit or 2) when they still have the base radio (since it could have been there all along and I had never noticed it!).
