The fan(?) motor noise plus new (minor) problem

Source: Off-Road.com

Follow-up question on my now noticeable motor noise after the new
radio install... I would understand it being a cooling fan, if it
was on AFTER I shut off the engine. However, it comes on as soon
as we turn the ignition on (in the garage, so it's fairly cool) just
for the radio. Does this still make sense? Everything seems to
be working ok, so perhaps I should not worry about this now :-)

Another weird problem has happened, albeit very minor. The last
week or so, I noticed some sticky goo on the passenger side window.
I washed it off a couple of times and thought there was somehow some
goop that dripped into the side of the window. Then Friday I almost
couldn't get the window up after having it all the way down. When it
finally closed, a piece of black plastic(?) with adhesive on one
side starting coming up. It is about 4" wide, sticking out now about
2" and rest still embedded in the window. WHAT COULD THIS BE? Yes,
I've got a call into the service department.
