Alarm problem question

Following this thread, are all alarms defective when MBUSA says there
is no fix....? As far as I know my alarm works (tested when the remote
was dying, and I had to unlock the car manually :-( ), but it hasn't
gone off on its own or had any other problems....

PS. From what I've seen the Eclipse units don't have removable
faceplates. Personally I don't like them so that's a plus.
I'm getting a 4421R, a cassette head unit, with the changer.
I will post on Monday if everything fits and works!
