CD/cassette unit. Couple of hours later got a call that they can't get it to fit! Apparently the opening in the M (of the stock radio and the cavity underneath) is LARGER than a standard double DIN. They claimed it would have an ugly 1/2" gap.... They talked me into ordering a separate Kenwood cassette/receiver and single CD unit.... KRC-605 & KDC-P200. Not that I don't trust them (especially as the combination units are half the price of the Alpine unit), but I know I like Alpine, never had a Kenwood. Also the Alpine has a 3 CD changer.... so, I thought I would ask this list for any successful double DIN unit installations. Should I just go find a better installer? Or, should I go ahead with the Kenwood combo (I really want both cassette and CD accessible in the front)? Any pro/con stories on Kenwood would be appreciated. I'm not sure if I like unnecessary moving parts like the swivel frontplate. I did chose a model with the simpler nonmechanical swivel removable frontplate, but they couldn't find me a cassette unit with stationary frontplate! Hasn't been a good weekend in general :-( (This email even bounced the first time, so it really was a BAD weekend!). ======================================================================= M-Class Mailing List http://www.off-road.com/mbenz Subscription Info http://www.off-road.com/mbenz/guideline.html Sponsored by Clair Parts Express: http://www.clair.com/parts/index.html *** Send [Un]Subscription message to majordomo@lists.off-road.com *****
